🌐 Setting yourself up as a Storage Provider (SP) on the Filecoin Network got a lot easier. Here’s how 👇 Servers.com recently partnered with Filecoin to deliver data centers on demand. SPs can now have a storage solution in just 6 to 8 weeks without any capital investment or worrying about what hardware to buy. How does this work? Together, Protocol Labs and Servers.com have developed a new OPEX-only, modular data center solution. As part of the deal, a group of predefined hardware specifications are designed with next generation AMD CPUs, NVIDIA GPUs and enterprise-grade Dell chassis that are battle-tested in the Filecoin ecosystem. Customers simply have to select the hardware they want and rent them out as little as $2,325 per month. Servers.com will deploy and maintain this hardware on the SP’s behalf and provide 24/7 support should anything go wrong. Why is this important? The price of data storage is ridiculously high. This is especially concerning in the age of AI. Decentralized storage networks like Filecoin provide a cheaper and more secure alternative to traditional centralized solutions. This is possible because of the economies of scale the Filecoin network achieves by allowing anyone to participate as a storage provider.
